Job Purpose

This role is responsible to lead the PDM system definition, development, and implementation, consisting of multiple interconnected systems, from different engineering disciplines, into a cohesive IT supported data management system for the NGP Engineering Department.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

Business

 

·  System Design Specification – work with necessary stakeholders and prepare system requirements specifications including hardware and software management processes
·  PDM System Functional and Non-Functional Analysis – carry out a range of analysis and investigations to create the user stories for the system
·  Evaluate multiple system design concepts and maintain balance between the different teams and their components to arrive at a harmonized solution that meets the business needs
·  System Functional and Physical Architecture development: propose new and different methods and processes to achieve system performance.
·  Investigate new technologies and stay current on new product developments in NGP markets
·  Product Verification and Validation – design and develop system integration plan and tests
·  Lead System Integration and test (EVT & DVT)
·  Lead cross-functional technical and design reviews on the PDM system and processes
·  Responsible for product documentation from initial proposals through first release
·  Adhere to the defined engineering processes for product development

 

People

 

·  Assist IT project manager with project schedule development and milestone definition
·  To manage assigned system development using the identified BAT/NGP processes
·  To identify best processes to assist and drive devices development documentation management
·  To effectively manage assigned projects to ensure delivery on time and within budget
·  Lead internal teams and / or development partners to define the expected system functionality and performance targets
·  Liaise with cross category teams to maintain alignment with the specified programs
·  Working with our internal teams and / or development partners, create functional designs, demonstrating how the system satisfies the defined customer requirements

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

·  Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering field
·  Strong experience in product development systems and documentation processes
·  Previous product development experience in a related field with PDM systems use
·  Previous experience in Requirements creation and / or product verification testing
·  Previous experience working as a member of a development team
·  Previous experience launching a consumer electronic product into volume production
·  Working knowledge of mechanical design methods and documentation practices
·  Working knowledge of mass produced product development and debug tools
·  Knowledge and understanding of product development processes
·  Proficient with MS Project, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
·  Fluent in Mechanical CAD software use such as SolidWorks or ProE
