Role synopsis
This role sits within the Credit Portfolio & Structured Trade Finance teams within BP's supply and trading business and is an excellent entry role into the IST Credit team. The role is responsible for preparing IST & Group-level credit risk reports and analytics - helping to inform credit risk management strategies. The role also facilitates business growth by partnering with strategic credit, trading and origination teams to manage credit risk and working capital through receivable discounting, bank guarantees and trade credit insurance.
This role sits within a small global team providing support across an oil and gas multi-commodity supply and trading organization operating worldwide.

Key accountabilities
• Execute receivable discounting to manage credit risk and/or working capital
• Book risk cover with banks and/or insurers as directed by strategic credit team for effective risk mitigation. Ensure cover remains valid by behaviour as a prudent uninsured. Own the process, documentation, and communication internally and externally.
• Manage the reporting and analysis of Group & IST credit exposures, including development of new data visualization tools as required. Including weekly and monthly dashboards and reporting presentations for credit globally and Finance and Risk Leadership
• Credit portfolio analytics, modelling and stress-testing, working with Strategic Credit and Global Credit Research to provide portfolio and counterparty Management Information
• Maintenance of market-driven credit curves and transaction pricing tools e.g. PFE & CDS.
• Oversee and manage credit portfolio management pricing systems and data feeds
• Contribute to the development, implementation and socialisation of methodologies and tools, working with IT and RAD teams
• Effective partnership across multiple business segments and regions
• Other support as needed by global and local credit teams from time to time

• Credit portfolio / credit markets analytics experience a potential plus
• Deep familiarity with IST transactional data and systems a potential plus
• Foreign language proficiency a potential plus

Essential experience and job requirements

• Ability to contribute to the operational implementation and articulation of methodologies, and have an understanding of quantitative models and portfolio tools
• High degree of capability and comfort working with large volumes of data in Excel, Business Objects, Tableau or similar tools, including the integration of data across multiple spreadsheets and databases
• Strong proficiency in building charts, graphs and dashboards, and in leveraging new data visualization tools, to effectively convey the story within the data to a broader audience
