Role synopsis
Upstream Technology (UT) comprises 260 people with high-end technology and specialist skills, conducting leading edge R&D as well as specialist technical work to deliver BP Upstream priorities. Recent highlights include advances in seismic imaging in GOM Atlantis to enable better imaging and resource progression, innovative digital solutions for managing operations and optimizing production, and optimizing fracture designs and completions to greatly improve tight gas economics.
Upstream Technology is organized into three main Technology areas: Subsurface Technical Center (STC), Wells Production and Facilities (WPF), and Unconventional Reservoirs (UR). The Digital Center of Expertise and Chemical Science Center of Expertise, both hosted in WPF, provide knowledge across Upstream and Downstream.
Currently, we have an opening for a Technology Planning & Integration Analyst in Upstream Technology. This is a rotational role, lasting up to 24 months in duration. It is a great broadening opportunity for someone with strong technical background and experience. This position offers development opportunities to gain exposure to Area Development Plan (ADP) Technology Planning, interface with Regions and Operating Functions, and Technology teams. There are also cross-functional opportunities that are being progressed in Upstream in the Technical Needs Table; the successful candidate will play a big part in supporting successful delivery of integrated work-fronts across the Technical Functions, UT, Upstream Engineering Center, and IT&S.
This role is open to any technical discipline.
The successful candidate will report to Raymond Choo, Manager of Technology Planning & Integration in Upstream Technology. Candidates in Level H are preferred although Level I candidates will also be considered. Both Houston and Sunbury staff will be considered.

Key accountabilities
The Technology Planning & Integration (TPI) Analyst provides primary support to the TPI Manager in the following areas:
· ADP Technology Planning
· Coordinates ADP Technology Plan reviews between region, UT, Upstream Engineering Center, and Function Reps to ensure alignment to drive business delivery. Ensures good alignment of regions' technical needs with clear milestones and people accountable for delivery in either Upstream Technology or Technical Functions.
· Prepares summary analyses of technical needs, proactively identifies emerging themes across regions, cross-functional opportunities and influences VPs.
· Provides performance management of milestones demand and delivery.
· Technical Needs Table
· Support coordination of quarterly sessions of VPs from Operating and Central Functions, UT, UEC, IT&S to identify and progress cross-functional opportunities.
· Provides performance management of cross-functional work streams to drive business delivery.
· Coordinates materials for UT quarterly reviews with Sr Mgmt., including success stories
· Supports Team Leaders/ Program Managers to sustain conformance to GDP 6.5 Technology Management and associated continuous improvement targets.
· Actively promotes and maintains UT Risk Management Register. Support technology assurance of upstream RCM level FMs.
