Role synopsis
The Control Room Operator - Production Technician (CRO-PT) is a member of a multidiscipline operations team, reporting to the Production Supervisor. The main purpose of this position is to provide input to maximize optimization of production systems.
The CRO-PT is primarily accountable for maximizing the optimization and monitoring of the process equipment via computer (DCS & PLC) systems for desired pressure, temperature, levels and tracking throughput.
The CRO-PT identifies and assists in managing process upsets and collects long-term performance data. Monitoring well performance, the CRO-PT recommends flow changes to optimize production volumes while performing trend analysis and ensuring documentation/procedures are current and accurate.
NOTE: Applicants must be willing to enter work force as a Production Tech. Upon completion of the required training/ development/certification process, Job Title will be changed to Control Room Operator (CRO).

Key accountabilities
· Participate in FAT's (Factory Acceptance Testing)
· Day to day management of operational priorities, taking direct instruction from the Production Team Leader on maintaining integrity of the facilities and production optimization
· Operate, monitor and adjust production and injection well fluid flow and pressures, fluid separation vessels, produced water handling facilities, crude oil to export and gas compression and the treatment and distribution equipment and process (inclusive of process support systems such as instrument air, chemicals, heating and seawater)
· Report potential process safety and operational optimization issues to the appropriate level
· Complete all maintenance routines as defined by planned maintenance (PM) schedules and procedures
· Ensure all Maximo data relating to topside/subsea equipment, including defects, is recorded and used as required
· Monitor the preparation and status of isolations conducted and permits issued in compliance with ISSOW
· Report any activity to the production team leader that could impact production
· Monitor and record all key operational parameters and report any anomalies in a timely manner, with particular attention to subsea equipment, flow rates, chemical pumps, MeOH systems, vessels etc.
· Ensure maintenance and participate in the testing of all subsea and topsides equipment as needed, such as wellheads, safety valves, vessel end devises, pig launchers, receivers, etc.
Essential Education
A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
Desirable criteria and qualifications
· Recent experience as a control room operator
· Intimate knowledge of Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSSE) and USCG regulations and experience in working with their inspectors
· Subsea experience
· Marine experience
· Recognized outside own site for technical ability and expertise
· Able to interact effectively with company & contractor personnel on location to get the job done
· Strong health, safety, environmental and regulatory compliance record
· Experienced in all aspects of oil and gas operations, including export pipeline systems
· Experienced in simultaneous operations involving production, well maintenance, and construction activities
· Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to influence others
· Strong teamwork skills with experience in working with engineers and multi -discipline teams
