Role synopsis
Reporting to the Production Chemistry Team Leader, the Production Chemist will be responsible for providing technical assurance of ongoing chemical programs and the safe implementation of the CMS supplier contract.
The role will be onshore based with offshore work as required for verification activities and technical support for both assets. The role sits within the Engineering Services Integrity Management team and gives support to other operational disciplines, such as Base Management and Area teams. The role will be part of the succession plan for the Team Leader position

Key accountabilities
The role will report to the Production Chemistry TL within the IM team, as part of that team the candidate will be responsible for regional activities on both B18 and B31 assets. Utilization of technical knowledge and experience to support the PSI, FM, Structures and Corrosion team activities to ensure the long term integrity of the asset. The role is also accountable for our offshore Laboratory & Production Chemistry programs within our CMS Supplier contract. Contractor management and support are critical to deliver safe, reliable and efficient chemical programs.
· Ensure we are conforming to BP's Code of Conduct and Values
· Ensure teams are working within the BP group defined practices (GP-41-02)
· Mentor and develop Production Chemistry team members
· Work within our OMS system to ensure Contractor Management and delivery versus objectives
· Provide technical support to the onshore and offshore teams on a daily basis
· Work within the IM teams to ensure the integrity of our assets and operations
· Lead in technical reviews and anomalies to ensure Production Chemistry team support
· Lead in performance review, utilizing Heat Map and barrier strength to identify risk to operations
· Ensure compliance with local environmental and health regulatory practices
· Understand the commercial drivers and key element of the GFA and Regional Call off contracts with CMS supplier
· Working with the BP PSCM and CAM as the Job Representative to ensure PHCA conformance
· Work as one team to deliver Safe, Efficient and Reliable operations in the Angolan region

Essential experience and job requirements
· Leadership capabilities and desire to work within a multi-disciplinary team
· Experience in an upstream production chemistry operations
· Strong technical ability and in-depth knowledge of FPSO operations
· Knowledge of the legislative requirements relating to effluent discharge and chemical usage and OIW
· Experience with Topsides, Subsea, Water Injection and Utility chemical programs
· Knowledge of IM, Flow assurance and operation risks
· Working knowledge of KPI management and tracking
· Ability to work with and manage the offshore Laboratory activities
· Demonstrate strong commitment to personal and process safety
· Experience working and managing direct reports
· Understanding of LIMs management systems
· Strong planning and scheduling experience
· Familiar with the OMS elements for contractor management
