Role synopsis

This role is responsible for providing payroll analytical and administrative services in support of accurate payroll delivery in the UK, including transactional support, vendor coordination, and timely and accurate analysis of payroll related research and queries.

The Payroll Analyst works closely with various members of the service delivery team and other payroll connected parties (for example, Tax, Finance, International Mobility), and reports to the Payroll Service Delivery Manager (SDM).

Purpose of Post

This role will be responsible for assisting and leading activities related to payroll analytics and research, and will work with vendor partners to provide solutions to maintain and/or improve payroll services to employees in the UK. While largely ad hoc in nature, this role will also be a key contributor in future process improvements and in seeking opportunities to proactively improve the payroll offer.

Key accountabilities

This role is part of a team that is responsible for assisting and leading activities related to payroll production in the UK, working with internal stakeholders and third party vendor partners to provide solutions to maintain and/or improve payroll services to employees in the UK. More specifically, this role works closely with the Payroll Service Delivery Manager to deliver payroll-related transactions and projects, including but not limited to:
·  Monthly reporting and/or posting of various payroll related files
·  Data input into related/impacted systems
·  Various reconciliations
·  Administration of BP Fuel Card activities
·  Monitoring of International Rotator categories
·  Administration and management of overpayment reconciliation and recovery activities
·  Processing of same day payments to staff
·  Provides active support around problem identification and resolution
·  Works in coordination with vendor partners to ensure prompt and accurate payroll processing and related postings
·  Provides escalated support to the HR community regarding data updates
·  Acts as a liaison between vendor partners and BP to resolve process issues on either side
·  Provides support to BP Tax, BP Finance, and other internal parties as needed in support of payroll related activities
·  Assists Payroll Manager in identifying and leveraging continuous process improvement opportunities
·  Assists Payroll manager in making sure process local work instructions are accurate, up to date, and fit for purpose
·  Assists / leads efforts relating to ad hoc and unanticipated work requests, as required
·  Assists in identifying payroll related measures to help improve the efficiency of payroll operations through trend analysis, metrics, etc.
·  Responsible for the coordination and/or delivery of various additional activities or ad hoc requests, as required or identified
Essential Education
