Key accountabilities
The Military Placement Program - NAGP Analyst will have exposure to the NAGP business and be able to gain exposure in one or more of the following roles within the twelve-month program timeframe:
Commodity Risk Analyst
The role of a Commodity Risk Analyst is to ensure that potentially high risk trading activities are conducted within a robust framework of control. Each day the Commodity Risk Analyst ensures that all trades executed are recorded in the system of record accurately and within compliance of internal and external control polices.
The Commodity Risk Analyst is considered to perform what is termed a “middle office” function in support of the “front office” functions of Trading and Origination. Prior to the execution of trades in the mornings, the Commodity Risk Analyst works with Traders to confirm their daily risk and previous day's profits or losses. At the conclusion of the day, Traders look to the Commodity Risk Analyst to ensure the accuracy of the trades executed for the day.
Global Natural Gas Liquids (GNGL) Origination Analyst
Origination is the customer relationship building process that ultimately connects chemical plants and other Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) consumers with producers. The role of the GNGL Origination Analyst is to work with Originators and other Analyst to provide data research on customers and industry information to allow BP to expand its leadership position throughout the world.
BP's NGL Originators rely on the GNGL Origination Analysts to provide analytical support on commercial opportunities and insights into global trends and customer activities. Some of the insights include industry and regulatory information as well as discussions on how these trends may affect BP resources and profits.
Settlements Analyst
The role of the Settlements Analyst sits within BP Supply & Trading's Finance function and operates in support of our strategic objectives, helping to achieve our aim of being the world's pre-eminent energy trader, in a controlled and compliant way. Finance is accountable for short term planning and for all financial and “middle office” reporting activities. The Settlements Analyst is responsible for settlements transactions, ensuring they are processed accurately, effectively, efficiently and in a controlled, timely and compliant manner.
The Settlements Analyst willsupport the Settlements Team Lead in ensuring that financial settlements operational activity is conducted within a strong control framework while building trust with identified key stakeholders and maintaining a customer focus.
