Role synopsis
As a core member of the Marine Operations team, the Post Holder will report to the Marine Supervisor and be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of marine and utility systems in compliance with Company policies. Health, Safety and Environmental programmes are key to a successful operation. The individual will be expected to actively support and contribute to the implementation of such activities. This role also requires safe and efficient response to Marine and utility related alarms and shutdowns and the demonstration of being a good team player. Initially, this role will be to support final commissioning of the FPSO, followed by 1st Oil in early 2017.
There are currently two possible work locations; Shore based at the North Sea HQ in Aberdeen and Offshore West of Shetland on-board the FPSO. Candidates could be placed at either of these locations to support the final preparations for first oil. The work pattern is an Initial rotation of 3 weeks on 3 weeks off, prior to eventually moving to North Sea rota pattern of 3 weeks on, 4 weeks off, 3 weeks on, 5 weeks off.

Key accountabilities
Including but not limited to:-
Demonstrate good safety behaviours at all times and stop all unsafe acts witnessed. As part of the marine operations team, deliver on a personal commitment to safety.
Safe conduct of marine operations and minimise the impact of all platform marine operations on the environment. Compliance with operating procedures and standards, applicable legislation, safety guidelines and codes. Responsible for safe marine operations, including loading, ballasting, crude oil washing and export to shuttle tankers as well as day to day logistical operations and support vessel co-ordination.
Compilation / review of process operating procedures, vessel stability/ loading/ offloading plans. Deliver full compliance with the Operating Management System/ BP Golden Rules/ Site safety standards and BP federal SMS. Participate in team safety meetings and advocate an exemplary safety culture within the team. Delivery of the asset plan in relation to marine and utility systems. Day to day delivery of marine priorities based on maintaining integrity of marine and associated systems. Provide operational input into long term projects and TAR plans as required by asset management. Act as member of the emergency control team as required by the emergency response plan.
Essential Education
Qualified Mariner certified to OOW (Unlimited) minimum STCW 95 Reg 11/1 Class 3 and relevant experience of tanker operations
Desirable criteria and qualifications
- Chief Mate (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency - Dangerous Cargo Endorsement for Oil/Gas - Experience with Dynamic Positioning Systems - Competent Isolating Authorities within the ISSOW system
