Role synopsis
The North Sea Region has opportunities for Offshore Instrument, Electrical and Mechanical Technicians to fill both identified vacancies and to fulfil succession plans for existing and new facilities in the region. Suitable candidates are sought for all of these positions as part of a single co-ordinated exercise.
· All North sea Region offshore installations are busy and challenging places to work with a wide range of operational activities.
· The role of the Instrument, Electrical and Mechanical Technician is essential in providing exemplary performance in the areas of both safety and business performance delivery.
· All Technicians are recruited not just on their technical competency but also on their essential behaviours.
· Responsible, through their line management, for the optimised and safe running of the installation. All Technicians, as part of a team of a highly skilled discipline team, are key to the safe and efficient delivery of BP's offshore business.
· Reporting to one of the installations Production Supervisors /Maintenance Team Leaders you will be part of an informed and dedicated team, be given clear direction along with the space and support to contribute and develop in this exciting and forward looking environment.
· The individual will normally be expected to work 3 weeks on, 4 weeks off, 3 weeks on, 5 weeks off onshore rotation and involves 12hr nightshift and dayshift working. Opportunities exist on a number of installations in the North Sea Region, both on existing installations and new major projects being built for the North Sea Region

Key accountabilities
HSE Performance
· Demonstrate good safety behaviours at all times and stop all unsafe acts witnessed.
· As part of the operations team, deliver on a personal commitment to safety.
· Implement all relevant policies and procedures as defined within the Operating Management System (OMS).
· Actively participate in incident investigations and assist the team on determining root cause.
· Deliver full compliance with the OMS, Golden Rules and Site Safety Standard.
Production and Technical Integrity Performance
· Plan, prepare, execute and close out all maintenance routines as defined in the Maintenance Management System.
· Act as a single point of accountability for vendors executing work on the facility, including the Preparation of Work Control Certificate's (Permits) and ICC's (Isolations), that any spares required are on board and the work is ready to be executed.
· Act as a Performing Authority and Isolating Authority as required.
· Implement operations and maintenance procedures, policies and safe working practices for your areas of responsibility.
· Ensure a clear and concise crew change handover.
· Actively participate in continuous improvement processes.
· Ensure jobs are raised in Maximo to address all known defects. Order all required materials and where appropriate feed the job into the plan.
Emergency Response
· Act as member of the emergency control team or fire team as appropriate. Responsibilities defined in the Emergency Response Plan.
Essential Education
A minimum of an HNC, VQ level 3 or suitable operational experience in an Instrument, Electrical or Mechanical role
Desirable criteria and qualifications
· Demonstrated exemplary performance in trade discipline and team working.
· Good communications skills and ability to develop procedures, practices and strategies from first principles.
· Excellent coaching and support skills.
· Exposure to ancillary operations such as drilling, well service work, and pipeline operations.
· Clear knowledge and track record of excellent HSE performance.
· A teamwork approach with a clear track record of responsibility for delivery of complex problems in a team context.
· A minimum of an HNC, VQ level 3 and suitable operational experience in an Instrument, Electrical or Mechanical Technician role
· Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) and Health certification for offshore working is required.

Desired profile
Essential experience and job requirements
Operating or Project experience, either onshore or offshore, in the role of Instrument, Electrical or Mechanical Technician.
· Demonstrated knowledge and skills required to manage major incidents and emergencies.
· Ability to work required rotational assignment for both UK and international working.
· Ability to work extended periods of time offshore on a production platform.
· Successful applicant would need to pass the offshore medical testing, which includes drug testing.
· Willingness and ability to commute in a helicopter over open water for extended periods of time.
· Good understanding of safety management for offshore operations and have demonstrated personal commitment to Safety.
· Proven track record of performing within a multi- disciplined team.
· Experience of working in a shipyard during a construction and commissioning phase of a project.
· New Installation hook-up and start-up offshore.
· Detailed knowledge of offshore legislation and safety management systems
· Demonstrated ability to drive change - Must be a good communicator
· Successful candidates will have a strong track record of delivering on stretch performance targets and will be acknowledged as having the performance qualities to contribute to high performing and diverse teams
