Role synopsis
A physical and paper trader in the Global LPG (propane/butane) book, part of the wider GNGL team.

Key accountabilities
•Help manage the LPG waterborne trading strategy and positions in the Atlantic Basin (Europe, Med, WAF, USGC, Latam) and the Eastern Hemisphere (AG, JKT, SE Asia, Australia), in cooperation with the EH team
•Interact with US NGL team around the global strategy and the management of US exports/imports
•Work with rest of the team in other regions, with other teams (Naphtha, LNG,…) and market analytics staff to develop and validate key strategies to monetize strategic views
•Develop and maintain relationships with trading counterparts, leading to the conclusion of term longs and shorts and feeding into the Business Development team's strategy.
•Meet PNL objectives while complying with all relevant BP policies, as well as, legal and regulatory requirements.
•Work closely with refineries, BP Exploration and supply teams to ensure competitive and reliable supply/sales
•Accurately enter trades and ensure accuracy of overall position, PNL, and risk metrics.
•Post and validate forward price curves where necessary.
Supervise or cover for other team members when required.

Desired profile
Essential experience and job requirements
•Previous experience in trading is a pre-requisite, along with detailed understanding of refinery, shipping and petchem operations
•Previous experience in LPG or naphtha trading/operations as an asset.
•The successful candidate must be able to manage a book, create strategy, and communicate trade ideas to high-level management.
•Ability to gather, use and maximize a wide-range of data, information, consulting and forecasting services.
•Demonstrated drive and team player - Proactive in achieving results and are able to build solid working relationships with front, middle and back offices.
•Excellent relationship management capabilities and are able to drive a team and mentor a staff.
•Have a strong business acumen coupled with entrepreneurial flair and energy. Ability to work under pressure.
