Role synopsis

The Project Manager is responsible for managing delivery of a variety of small projects and engagements that are of a technical nature.

It presents an exciting opportunity to gain experience in a fast-changing part of the IT organisation driving for a DevOps way of working and migration of applications and services from traditional data centres to Public Cloud technology.

The role resides within the Application Engineering Services organisation that provides a variety of services to BP's global Trading business including automated software build and deployment, best-of-breed software and tooling, database administration, and performance testing.

Key accountabilities

·  Management of key stakeholders including customer internal resources, and external 3rd parties / consultants.
·  Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope and to budget with any risks/issues identified and managed appropriately
·  Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
·  Develop project plans to track delivery progress

Manage and communicate project scope, cost, risks and issues, performance, variance, and report/escalate as needed

Desirable criteria and qualifications

·  Project Management experience, ideally within an IT organization setting
·  Self-motivated with strong motivational skills to help teams and individuals meet goals
·  Pastoral care skills to help encourage teams to behave more collaboratively and break down barriers
·  Working knowledge of MS Office suite

Formal Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2/PMP or similar.
