Role synopsis

This business partner role will provide a great opportunity to gain exposure to how the financial heart of BP works as the client group includes:
·  The Group Finance team which supports the deployed Finance function with common processes, accounting standards and systems to deliver functional excellence. This team owns the responsibility for the Group's annual and quarterly reporting cycles, and hosts the finance support for OB&C.
·  The Treasury team whose objectives are to fund the Group, manage cash financial assets and liabilities and enable transactions in order to protect the Group's financial resilience and maximise value. Treasury also manages key risks, makes ~$2 trillion in clearing payments, manages $41 billion of pension fund assets, undertakes foreign exchange dealing and interfaces with banks.
·  The M&A team who play a key part in both the growth and transition agenda of BP. M&A handled BP's $38 billion divestment programme and is on track to deliver a further $4bn of divestments, identify inorganic options and actively support the Group and Segment strategy and portfolio decisions.
·  The Investor Relations team which manages BP's interactions with the investment community. They hold relationships with BP's institutional shareholders, potential shareholders and independent equity analysts who research the oil industry. They are responsible for communicating BP's results and strategy externally, and also for bringing feedback from the investment community back into BP The successful incumbent will become a member of the functional Leadership Teams and have the opportunity to shape the people agenda. The role will provide a great range of experiences including looking after Group Leaders the opportunity to gain a global macro-economic as well as geo-political outlook.

In addition, the HRBP operates as part of the CFO HR team with the opportunity to undertake projects and activities across the CFO portfolio, and plays a critical team role in delivering a cohesive One HR agenda which includes involvement in projects working across Corporate & Functions. This is a global HR role and as such the incumbent is expected to operate across the three main regions of North America, Europe and Asia.

Key accountabilities

·  Business Partnering – ensures critical people processes are effectively and efficiently undertaken.
·  People Plans – engages line managers in the compilation of people plans and successful delivery of key people initiatives.
·  Organisational Effectiveness – provides line management with advice and options for improving organisational effectiveness, productivity and working practices.
·  Talent Management and Succession Planning – delivers talent review process in collaboration with line managers. Facilitates talent review meetings and implements effective action plans to support increased capability.
·  Recruitment and Staffing – manages experienced business recruiting and migration activities for line managers, conforming with group recruiting standards and D&I plans.
·  Development – implements key leadership development initiatives and supports development for all.
·  Reward and Performance Management – ensures line manager enrolment and execution of key reward and performance cycle activities.
·  Employee Relations and Engagement – primary point of contact for all employee relations matters. Delivery of grievance and disciplinary processes, including execution of investigations.
·  HR Policy Administration and Services – accountable for ensuring accuracy of team leaders' people data. Manages the BP People service delivery model for client group and pursues continuous improvement in transactional efficiency.
