Role synopsis

To provide strategic HR Advisor support to the Global Operations Organisation in the North Sea Region, delivering the people and business agenda to the client group in all aspects of Resourcing, Reward, Organisation Effectiveness, Talent Management and Employee Relations.

Additionally the role will also be required to take a lead in the delivery of Functional and Regional HR activity, topics or projects

The role reports to the HR Manager, GOO North Sea and is based in Dyce, Aberdeen, Scotland, UK.

Key accountabilities

·  Responsible for high quality HR delivery of the people agenda for the function and region e.g. resourcing, talent management, reward & recognition, employee relations
·  Ensures HR visibility in the business, building strong relationships with leaders in GOO offshore and onshore
·  Understands D&I principles and inclusion agenda and articulates these in a clear and engaging way
·  Addresses behaviour inconsistent with the Code of Conduct
·  Proactively seeks opportunities to share knowledge within HR team and coach, mentor and develop HR team colleagues
·  Works closely with leadership teams to define people and HR implications of business plans and develops appropriate interventions to address these
·  Supports development of appropriate resourcing plans to meet short term & long term business needs
·  Provides advice and guidance to Line Managers on options to improve organisation effectiveness, productivity and working practices aligned with business plan
·  Supports line managers in progressing the talent and capability agenda, including implementation of effective development plans
·  Supports line managers in the implementation of the annual Performance and Pay Review cycle
·  Supports employee relations cases, coaching and guiding Team Leaders in effective handling of employee relation issues.
·  In collaboration with the HRA S&R supports delivery of the ER/IR plan, increasing employee engagement and positive employee relations
·  Required to support Regional Crisis Management, Emergency Response and Business Continuity Plans through on-call IMT rota participation.
·  Confidently interprets policy and challenges where necessary, demonstrating understanding of business impact of policy exception

Essential experience and job requirements

·  Significant HR generalist experience with a passion for delivering effective HR interventions in an operational environment.
·  Proven experience of setting the agenda to ensure delivery of high quality HR support and options to a business operating in a complex and demanding environment
·  Effective stakeholder management and strong influencing skills
·  Excellent facilitation and communication skills;
·  Strong project management skills; strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
·  Strong business acumen and commercial awareness
·  A spike strength in at least one area of HR specialism, e.g. Reward, Employee Relations
·  High levels of confidence in providing effective leadership and performance coaching to leaders
·  A team player with a strong bias for collaboration and efficiency
·  A willingness and ability to travel offshore (c. 18 days per year); requires completion of Basic Offshore Survival Training
