Role synopsis

The trading analyst role will be a key position supporting the Amsterdam Blending book and the European Gasoline paper trading book in the GLights bench. The role will be focussed on supporting the day to day trading activities and exposure management for the books ensuring delivery of key performance targets. GLights is IST's global lightends and chemicals trading book. GLights operates a global trading book model and trades Gasoline, Naphtha, Ethanol and Chemicals globally around our assets and third party relationships. In addition to London, GLights has traders in Singapore, Chicago and Calgary with representatives in regional offices in areas such as Moscow, the Middle East, Indonesia and Latin America. The GLights team in London covers lightends trading in North West Europe, Med, FSU, as well as participating fully in global arbitrage opportunities with the other lightends locations.

Key accountabilities

The role will specifically have the following focus:

·  Daily management of the Gasoline and paper trading exposure for the European Lightends trading bench
·  Production of exposure reports daily, cross reference and reconcile trader blotter, accept and clear any outstanding deals in trading system
·  Manage the daily live P&L spreadsheet and perform deal entry in trading system on behalf of traders
·  Work closely with operators and inventory team to maintain accurate physical exposure and strategies
·  Support management of daily pricing and hedging exposure
·  Daily book balancing and internal chain control and administration
·  Coordination with mid office on exposure, performance reporting and associated administration issues.
·  Be familiar with the book's trading strategies and understand associated P&L
·  Ad hoc analytical support for traders on deal performance
·  Provide cover for key operational activities on the book where needed
·  Complete all required training and ensure all activities are compliant with relevant laws and regulations, including internal processes and standards, and understand the importance of being compliant
·  Maintain constructive and productive relationships with internal and external business partners
Essential Education

A-level, Degree level or equivalent
