BP Petrochemicals is a growing business with circa 2000 employees working in production sites and offices around the world. We have presence in North America, Europe and Asia. As a business we are focus on improved resilience.
We manufacture and market four main product lines: purified terephthalic acid (PTA), acetic acid, paraxylene (PX), and olefins and derivatives (O&D). We also produce a few other speciality chemicals products. Our products go into a range of applications including polyester fibre, food packaging, and building materials.
The business is operated through wholly owned facilities and JVs in some areas. Our manufacturing technology is one of our USPs that makes us stand out from the competition.

Known internally as Reporting Analyst, this is a great role to give you a broad overview of the business and provides great visibility since you would be producing results that would be used by the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for Petrochemicals.

The Reporting Analyst principally supports the reporting manager in the preparation of the petrochemicals forecasts and actuals reporting. In particular the role will be accountable for running key reports as part of the monthly and quarterly close processes, issuing month end and Global Finance Outlook (GFO) instructions for the Strategic Performance Unit, preparing the Monthly Performance Reporting packs and leading the production and commentary on operations and margin reporting.

Key accountabilities

·  Supports reporting manager with month end, Quarterly Performance Reporting (QPR), GFO and cost reporting processes including:
·  Running queries/ data analysis to support the month end and quarter end close process.
·  Issuing GFO & month end instructions
·  Margin and operations metrics reporting and commentary including preparing analytical reviews.
·  Proactively identifies and investigates data discrepancies and escalates issues to the reporting manager.
·  Preparing the monthly performance review packs.
·  Supports the wider petrochemicals finance team to resolve reporting issues and to find and deliver process improvements.
·  Quarterly Travel and entertainment analysis.
·  Supports the Planning manager during the annual plan cycle through producing plan analysis and creating materials for presentations to the leadership team on the plan.
·  Supports the quarterly performance reporting process through producing insightful analysis as required.
·  Works closely with PetChem finance team members and other stakeholders to explain and simplify performance, planning and reporting output to help Business Leads make decisions, and providing a reference point of BP performance vs. the competition.
·  Supports the businesses with reporting processes, explaining accounting concepts and terminology in a simple, easy-to-understand manner.
·  Engages with key stakeholders and assists in the preparation of financial reports combining financial skills with business acumen providing an independent perspective.
Essential Education

·  Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline or other University degree combined with Accounting/ Reporting qualification required.
