Role synopsis
The Long-Term Operator will focus on enabling business growth into new physical markets, supporting the diversification of the EGP business. The role will become part of the EGP Operations Day Team reporting into the Operations Manager. This role will be accountable for the full end to end delivery of operational capability for defined areas of strategic priority, initially with a focus on physical delivery to end customers. In addition the individual will be expected to develop a comprehensive understanding of EGP's existing trading operations business.

Key accountabilities
1. Lead the due diligence process to identify & comprehensively understand the operational requirements required to conduct defined new business activities, ensuring BP remain compliant with all internal policies and external code requirements.
2. Identify and put in place solutions to manage operational and commercial risks appropriately, including systems, data flows, agent relationships and associated business processes.
3. Develop comprehensive training material and handover notes to effectively transition the new activity into the existing operational team.
4. Represent the front office through the internal business change processes to ensure new activities are well understood by all functions.
Essential Education
Bachelor Degree (any discipline)
Desirable criteria and qualifications
• Experience of Italian Gas & Power Operations.
• Experience working within a Retail Energy Supplier.
• Experience of Supplier to end customers for both Gas and Power in North West Europe.
• Experience in role of Producer &/or Generator in North West Europe.
• Strong industry reputation with existing relationships well established.

International Gas (IG) was formed as a result of the integration of the GTEL & Commercial Development SPUs. International Gas (IG) provides commercial support to Upstream in the development of major gas value chains, optimises BP's European equity gas supplies, trades and markets third party gas and power, and trades and optimises equity and merchant LNG. IG also houses a Treasury Trading team who manage BP's FX and money market activities. IG has high a significant commercial agenda and major growth ambitions, including supporting the delivery of major Upstream gas value chains around the world (amongst others including Trinidad, the Caspian, Oman, Indonesia, Australia, Egypt and Alaska), growing its European Gas and Power business and building a 20+mtpa flexible BP LNG portfolio.

Essential experience and job requirements
• Extensive Gas & Power Operations experience, with experience working inside a large trading organisation in a lead operations role.
• Comprehensive understanding of European Gas & Power Operational activities across multiple markets, with an emphasis on and track record of delivering access to new markets, including:
1. In the role of Supplier to end customers for both Gas and Power in the UK.
2. In the role of Producer &/or Generator in the UK
3. In the role of Trader across UK & North West Europe.
• Demonstrate good knowledge of the network codes across the UK and North West Europe, including a clear understanding of the various points of data interaction, administration processes, agent roles and contractual frameworks to enable a firm to produce, trade and deliver gas & power to the gate.
• Strong understanding of the commercial risks & opportunities a trading entity is exposed to in European Gas & Power markets plus associated optimisation techniques available to manage risks and create value.
• Demonstrate strong analytical and investigative skills
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to work within a very deadline orientated environment with competing priorities and complexities.
