Role synopsis
Accountable for conducting thorough due diligence on prospective counterparties across two fast moving and dynamic energy commodity business units in Integrated Supply & Trading (IST). The role is responsible for the delivery of effective and efficient Know Your Counterparty (KYC)/Anti-Money Laundering (AML) procedures including completion of quality due diligence reviews for new counterparties, advising the business on CDD related issues, and driving timely monitoring of existing counterparties for the Global Oil America (GOA) & North America Gas & Power (NAGP) businesses. In addition, the successful candidate will be required to support the business units in meeting their KYC/AML due diligence obligations and take appropriate steps to ensure general compliance and timely escalation of issues to the CDD Manager.
The CDD team is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and effective due diligence processes, covering KYC/AML, Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC), and Sanctions monitoring activities of new trading counterparties and regional facilitation of KYC record maintenance for existing trading counterparties. The North America CDD team is a key part of the Global CDD function within BP's IST strategic business unit, responsible for the Anti-Money Laundering and Combating of Terrorist Financing compliance program.

Key accountabilities
· Accountable for conducting thorough KYC/AML due diligence on prospective counterparties across both the Oil and Gas businesses
· Ensures effective compliance with the IST AML Policy & Procedure in reviewing and approving new and existing counterparties
· Accountable for the escalation of all concerns and issues as appropriate and follow up to assist with satisfactory resolution
· Influence and initiate improvements to CDD processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness across all CDD procedures
· Develop and maintain effective interaction and communication with business and functional stakeholders across multiple locations
· Provision of a high quality customer oriented service to IST's North American businesses
· Accountable for understanding and providing a timely response to issues and queries raised by IST business units in North America
· Support the delivery of special projects within the Global CDD function, as required
