Role synopsis
Monitor and analyze key plant performance parameter, also provide operations support/training and process trouble-shooting related to process controls.
Optimize of existing process control under the guidance of lead process control engineer.
Identify and implement new process control, optimization or automaton ideas

Key accountabilities
Perform Plant Optimization and trouble-shooting through PCC Applications and Automation
Monitor unit performance and identify opportunities for improvements.
Support vendors to ensure the proper function and training use of the simulator.
Assist Lead POE Control to perform design/configuring, detailed engineering, and advanced process control applications, sequence programs, process logics, safety interlock system functionality and compressor controls to maximize plant profits and efficiency
Propose and conduct plant tests to verify or demonstrate process control improvement ideas.
Support and troubleshooting for the DCS system configuration & graphics and engineering projects
Provide assistance to Operations in trouble-shooting plant control problems.
Provide technical support including basic design/configuration to project team for implementation of automation programs and new process control applications.
Work with Maintenance and IT to support existing process control functions
Drive for HSE performance and continuous improvement
Actively participate in process safety activities and HAZOP reviews.
Follow HSSE & O&S guidelines to review and develop safety related process/operation to meet group standards.
Report unsafe condition, potential environmental problem, any opportunities and propose recommendation to improve in his/her work area based on his/her knowledge, experience and lesson learnt.
Communication
Generate internal and external reports to share best practices.
Keep current of site manufacturing issues and understand plant and business visions.
Coordinate with other groups and provide process engineering expertise and support to ensure implementation of process improvement changes.
Maintain contact with process engineering groups in BP Technology and BP PTA manufacturing sites.
Respect others as equals without consideration of positions or educational background.
Essential Education
4 years of College graduated, majored in Control engineering, or equivalent discipline.

Essential experience and job requirements
2 to 4 years work experience in the chemical processing industries or related field is required.
Expert understanding of DCS system configuration & graphics control configuration graphics, DCS control algorithms, logic systems, advanced loop tuning, and empirical process modelling.
A demonstrated understanding of fundamentals of economics and elements that drive plant profitability and business objectives.
Respect for and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Language skill-skilful English reading, writing; fluent mandarin speaking;
Familiar with Microsoft office is essential
A good team player, willing to learn and teach others.
