Role synopsis

The role of Commodity Risk Analyst is a key control position within the Integrated Supply & Trading (IST) Finance & Risk organization in the NAGP business unit. The analyst will interface with both domestic and international supply and trading personnel and leadership. The successful analyst will balance independence with a business enabling partnership. This position is accountable for ensuring a world class control environment and requires a deep understanding of the activities not only within Commodity Risk but also with global crude, products, and NGLs markets as a whole. This analyst will be part of a team delivering the core accountabilities of independent daily exposures, risks, working capital, and P&L analysis while enforcing the IST Operating Standards & Control Processes. This role will act as a center of expertise for option and derivative trading activities and will be accountable for providing deep business understanding and control through the delivery of value-added reporting and analysis.

Key accountabilities

·  Develop and leverage a deep understanding of NAGP NGL supply and trading business, exposures, strategies and market fundamentals.
·  Deliver timely, rigorous, and accurate reporting and analysis of exposures, risks, costs, gross margin, cash and working capital etc.
·  Provide constructive challenge to trading activity to ensure it is compliant and aligned to intended trading strategy.
·  Deliver reporting and analytics that provide insight into IST's business activities in order to support business decision making and strengthen the control environment.
·  Oversee daily marking, upload, and maintenance of curves and volatilities.
·  Support month-end and quarter-end close process, in conjunction with the NGLs Finance Leadership, to generate timely and accurate team results for subsequent consolidation and reporting to the key leadership stakeholders.
·  Support regional and global process standardization initiatives.
·  Support ad hoc reporting requirements and/or special projects.
·  Continuously improve analytical capability, developing and deepening understanding of commodity portfolio and drivers within it.
·  Interface with functions across front, middle, and back office to understand and analyze trading activity impacts across the business.
·  Enhance functional interface through analytic support to create an informed and holistic decision-making process for BP. This includes developing tools and metrics to provide better insights into the business activities and key drivers of P&L and returns.
·  Facilitate and oversee effective and consistent compliance and controls, both internally and externally, while ensuring financial integrity for IST.
Essential Education

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Financial Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or other Quantitative field
Desirable criteria and qualifications

·  Experience of working Solar Right Angle (SRA)
·  Physical and financial options valuation experience
·  In-depth knowledge of global Crude and NGL/LPG trading markets
·  Experience supporting logistical operations including vessels/barges, truck, rail and pipelines.
·  Knowledge of modelling and valuation of storage and transportation assets
·  Experience in Accounting, Back Office, Market Risk or Trading Analytics
·  Master in Accountancy or Finance, MBA or other financial certification including CFA, ERP, CPA
·  Proficiency in SQL, VBA and /or Matlab, Python, or other coding language
