Role synopsis

The IST IT&S Operations Work Bench (OWB) Team is responsible for the delivery of IT solutions in the Oil Physical Opeations domain. The OWB team is spread across IST's three trading locations to support our global user community and is made up of a group of diverse and multi-skilled business analysts, developers, testers and operational analysts all working together in a DevOps model.

This role will be accountable to lead the Operations Technology business analysis activities and deliverables. He/she will work in an iterative Scrum/Agile environment, and will be expected to engage in activities such as sprint planning, daily scrums, reviews and retrospectives. He/she will lead and support other analyst in requirements elicitation, managing stakeholder relationships, business process change, testing, project delivery and service delivery.

The role is also part of the Oil Business Analysis Function, a global group across the IST IT&S Global Oil Domain. The Function serves as one team of business analysts that provide business analysis expertise to meet the demand across all investment and operational activity for the Global Oil Domain. As a part of the BA function there may be future opportunities to work on other delivery streams in the Trading Front Office and Middleoffice domain.

Key accountabilities

Requirements Engineering

·  Elicits requirements at all stakeholder levels.
·  Lead requirements workshops.
·  Manage conflict resolution and achieves global consensus.
·  Refine requirements to eliminate ambiguity, conflict and duplication.
·  Understand system constraints and opportunities to inform design.
·  Work with development, design and architecture on design options and potential systems and process solutions.
Relationship and Stakeholder Management

·  Builds strong business intimacy with commercial partners at all levels.
·  Manages relationships in a global team with a global user community.
Service Delivery

·  Provides issue diagnosis and resolution.
·  Works closely and shares knowledge with other support teams across other functional areas .
·  Analyses and clearly documents defects, minor enhancements and change requests.
Project Delivery

·  Supports the full project lifecycle including global delivery and Early Life Support.
·  Provides quality assurance on analysis deliverables through peer review.
Testing

·  Writes test scenarios for both automated and manual testing.
·  Collaborates with test teams.
·  Performs regression testing.
·  Leads User Acceptance Testing.
Business Process Change

·  Leads business process workshops.
·  Analyses and maps business processes.
·  Identifies opportunities for process improvements.
Data

·  Analyses data flows and models data requirements.
·  Understanding of data models and database design.
·  Analyse and supports complex spreadsheets.
Essential Education

Bachelor's Degree
Desirable criteria and qualifications

·  Practical experience of working in an iterative/Agile development environment (including sprint planning, daily scrums, reviews and retrospectives)
·  Scrum Master Certification
·  Professional accreditation e.g. Foundation in Business Analysis or ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis
