Job description

Segment

Upstream
Role synopsis

Backbone GT One (Global Timewriting) Exceptions Management/Master Data Administration is the process of managing data and transactions or activities which fail to progress through standard processing within the Backbone GT One solution. Exceptions may be business (e.g., process, data, role/access) or system- related – and therefore may require collaboration between business and IT&S resources to resolve. Users should escalate identified issues within each Region to determine whether the issue is training or process related and whether it can be resolved without escalating to the IT Helpdesk.

They will report to the Region Backbone CoE (Center of Excellence) Manager

As a result of extensive growth through mergers and acquisitions, BP operates with numerous processes and disparate systems that have not been streamlined, resulting in increased complexity, inefficiencies and added costs to support. In 2007, Upstream embarked on a major effort to address this through process redesign and global implementation of SAP, Maximo and other technologies referred to as the Upstream Backbone program.

The goal of the Backbone program is to enhance Upstream's and Region's performance and competitiveness through major business transformation based on common processes and systems. The Backbone project will drive improved safety and operational risk, reduced cost and the ability to fully leverage BP's global scale and reach through standardization of processes and systems. This will be enabled through the creation of governance, processes, data, measures, and IT systems that are required to deliver benefits to the business.
