Role synopsis
The trading teams in Global Oil Americas (GOA) are one of 3 regional Performance Units in IST Oil and are primarily responsible for marketing BP's Exploration production throughout the region, sourcing crude for our refineries, trading on behalf of our associates, supporting our refinery assets in order to maximize commercial performance and trading both crude oil and products entrepreneurially.This role is part of the Trader Development Program, designed to develop the candidate for a period of 24-36 months in preparation for a final trading assessment. Upon completion of the assessment the candidate either secures a trading role or is required to seek a permanent role elsewhere within the organization.

Key accountabilities
· Maintain constructive and productive relationships with internal and external business partners
· Collaborate with lead analyst and traders to develop and maintain regional fundamental balances with ship tracking, tankage/inventory tracking and trade flow analysis
· Work closely with traders and lead analysts to initiate research and analysis that helps identify and builds confidence in specific tradable opportunities
· Demonstrate a high standard of communication in writing, emails, presentations, and informal conversations to gain the trust of traders in support of influencing trading decisions that deliver profits
· Build foundational skills and knowledge necessary to become a successful trader in BP

Our teams work closely with the BP business units in Refining and Marketing and Exploration and Production.
