Melbourne Metro Project
Cross Yarra Partnership (CYP) has been announced as preferred to deliver the Metro Tunnel (Tunnel and Stations PPP Project). CYP brings together three of Australia's leading construction partners, Lendlease Engineering Pty Ltd, John Holland Pty Ltd, and Bouygues Construction Pty Ltd who have the world's best experience in tunnelling and engineering, coupled with leading Australian experts who have proven experience in local ground conditions of complex Australian rail projects
The Metro Tunnel is a multi-billion dollar, multi-disciplinary, city shaping project that will help define the future of Melbourne. The project includes the construction of twin 9km rail tunnels from Kensington to South Yarra as part of a new end to end Sunshine to Dandenong line and new underground stations at Arden, Parkville, CBD North (with a direct pedestrian connection with Melbourne Central railway station), CBD South (with a direct pedestrian connection with Flinders Street Station) and Domain.
MISSION AND OBJECTIVES
Under supervision of the QA/QC Manager, in coordination with the Production Department, the Quality Control Inspector will be responsible of the following activities:
- Attend the preliminary inspection and testing (i.e. work, material, equipment, etc.) raised by construction and provide technical advice necessary to conform to the project specification,
- Document the inspection and testing activities and ensures client comments (i.e. snags, NCR, etc.) are addressed in due time,
- Provide assistance in the preparation of method statements, Inspection test plan (ITP) and supplementary formats for the program objectives,
- Checking technical designs and drawings to ensure the execution as per the contractual and quality requirement,
- Monitor the Suppliers/Subcontractors onsite performance and deliveries and ensures their activities are conforming to project requirements/specification,
- Ensures QC tools, equipment and test instruments necessary for inspection/testing activities are regularly maintain and calibrated,
- Raise Non-Conformity Reports for any deviation discovered during site inspection against design documentation, specification and normative documents,
- Stop work when conditions are unsafe or liable to lead to a situation that threatens the safety of workers, structures, systems or any components.
Profil:
- BAC+5 in Quality Management or Civil Engineering
- Experience in the construction sector and/or quality will be a plus
Skills:
- Communication and persuasion skills, capacity to dialogue and collaborate with different stakeholders
- Precision in work and attention to detail
- Professional English
- Proficient in working with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
