Job description

Robert Bosch GmbH (Employer) is hiring associates for interesting and challenging positions. Apply now!

Corporate success at Bosch is determined by innovation capability and an edge in know-how. Accept with us the challenge of new tasks by your willingness to permanently learn something new.

The Corporate Sector Research and Advance Engineering is in charge of designing, testing and exploring systems, components and technologies. Our innovations consistently aim to achieve an improvement in the quality of life.

Tasks

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for improving traffic safety rely currently on video and radar sensors. In parallel car-to-car and car-to-infrastructure communication (ITS G5, IEEE 802.11p) based on ad-hoc networking was proven in huge field tests and are in transition to deployment. The next logical step is the fusion of information from autonomous sensors and communication. One major challenge is the unambiguous assignment of detected cars from the different sensors. Video/radar sensors provide relative positions between the own vehicle and detected objects, whereas communication systems deliver geo-coordinates of other cars. For sensor fusion the information of the detected objects from the different sources has to be processed.

·  Research on chances for common usage of autonomous sensors and communication for ADAS and autonomous driving
·  You develop and simulate algorithms (e.g. Kalman filter) for the fusion of information from autonomous sensors and V2X technology
·  Another focus of your work is the extension of communication messages (Cooperative Awareness Message) to improve sensor fusion performance
·  You implement your results in prototypes and verify them in drive tests

Requirements

·  Very good completion of a doctoral qualifying study in Electrical engineering or computer science engineering
·  Expertise in the field of communication systems and the transmission technology using cellular and wireless communication
·  Practical experience in structured software development using C / C++ and UML, simulation tools such as Matlab and network simulators
·  Open-mindedness and ability to work in a team as well as systematic and goal-oriented approach to new research areas
·  High level of commitment and personal initiative along with competent and consequent behavior in an international environment

Make every future a success.
