- Be responsible for a combination of management of the schematic drafting process and ensuring that the drafted systems are electrically viable and to a given quality.
- Checking of the electrical schemes is a core element of this role. This is for graphical quality, logical layout and correctness to the electrical engineer's requirement.
- A second aspect of the role requires the selection of small electrical components which form part of the electrical design. A good knowledge of currently available electrical products is highly desirable.
- Defining the computer control hardware, network and I/O architectures, and utilization and distribution of MITRAC platform software capabilities across that architecture to deliver safety-critical solutions with high reliability, high availability and low maintenance & material costs.
- Responsible for preparing bid-responses, focusing on re-use of systems with a proven pedigree where practical, proposing new concepts where necessary or advantageous, and engineering solutions for simplicity, reliability, maintainability and cost-effectiveness in all cases. You will liaise with colleagues to ensure a holistic approach to the vehicle design and architecture is supported.
- During project execution, you will be responsible for producing all relevant functional and sub-system artefacts on time and to an agreed budget: typically these will include the sub-system architecture, design and interface specifications, supplier requirements, sub-system acceptance criteria and test specifications.
