Operations Center Operator-T-SVC-USNY-091115 Description The Operation Center Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently entering, exiting and diverting trains through Automatic Train Control (ATC), power distribution and communication systems. This position is responsible for the day to day support of customer service through effective communications, maintenance of balanced headway's, buildups and reductions; effective utilization of emergency and failure management strategies; support of maintenance through efficient implementation of the Work Authorization Procedures and clearances while adhering to all safety rules and regulations. Support all revenue activities in accordance with the applicable service plan, to include: service levels, radio communications, monitoring applicable Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems, spare train utilization, troubleshooting, and any other functions which affect or could affect the delivery of revenue service. Is responsible for the power configuration through interaction with the Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for normal service, or maintenance and emergencies activities. Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent. Associates technical degree is preferred. Advanced level of skills in Microsoft Office Applications and Windows Operating Applications; qualifying score on ACT Aptitude tests. Conditions: This is a shift position that supports a 24/7 operation and is subject to random alcohol and drug testing. The Operations Center Operator must meet physical requirements of position, must be able to distinguish colors and pass a 10 year background check.
