Based in Thunder Bay, Ontario, you will align and support the material handling teams to enable them to perform in accordance with overall goals and targets, especially in terms of safety, on-time delivery, quality and cost. You will ensure open bi-directional communication, team empowerment and standardization across teams.

In your role you will:

- Manage teams members and definition of processes in the area of responsibility;
- - Ensure that BOS@Cell and Kaizen targets are reached;
- - Monitor and improve problem solving and escalation processes and establish regular information and communication rounds;
- - Ensure that tasks and KPIs are clearly defined and understood and that relevant information and communication is timely cascaded to all levels;
- - Monitor quantity and defect control: signal defects to the responsible department;
- - Report deviations and quality defects. Support issue resolution with manufacturing and support functions;
- - Assign work to available resources to reach daily objectives;
- - Liaise regularly with adjacent teams and functions to ensure coordination and continuous improvement of work;
- - Be responsible for inventory management for all materials in the area of responsibility;
- - Be responsible for storage and physical movements in safe and damage free conditions;
- - Prepare and support inventory;
- - Promote training to increase or improve competencies within area of responsibility;
- - Maintain discipline and morale;
- - Encourage team work and empowerment of team leaders and team members.

Qualifications

As our ideal candidate:

- You hold a Post-secondary Diploma in a related field;
- You possess two to three (2-3) years of experience in a supervisory role;
- Your Material Handling Experience will be considered as a strong asset;
- You have experience working in a unionized environment;
- You have strong leadership skills;
- Your English communication skills are excellent, both written and spoken.
