At Bombardier, on behalf of our customers we are responsible within Services Execution for the maintenance and safe delivery of trains into service on a daily basis from our Fleet Maintenance Depots. Integral to the success of our Business in defining the correct strategy, and working with all parts of the Supporting Functions to ensure the smooth running of our Fleet Maintenance Depots. We are also working closely with our customers to reduce costs to maximise the train life cycle through remote based monitoring.

We are currently looking to recruit an Apprenticeship Manager UK for our Services Execution team, located in London, UK

YOUR ROLE
To lead, develop and grow the apprentice talent within the business. You will develop the existing scheme to meet the growing need for development and ensure the apprenticeship strategy and delivery of the programme meet the needs of our expanding business. Reporting into the UK Head of Training, you will work closely with the Training and Competence Manager to ensure the scheme meets the technical needs of the organisation and drives the competence and skills of the business to ensure we meet our talent and capability needs now and in the future.

YOUR TASKS
1.Lead and manage the apprenticeship programme
- develop and shape the apprentice strategy to meet the needs of the services business and develop the apprentice pipeline
- work closely with apprentice providers to establish a service level agreement and partner with the provider to ensure this is delivered
- drive the effective delivery of the end point assessment
- seek out new and inventive ways to maximise the use of the apprentice levy and ensure effective spending
- identify opportunities for the scheme to support our responsible procurement initiatives
- promote the scheme internally and externally
- develop a clear strategy for recruitment, assessment, development and retention throughout the scheme and in the future

2.Apprentice management
- drive the day to delivery of the apprentice programme across all locations and training providers
- establish relationships with all apprentices
- build a relationship with all managers and mentors to ensure effective partnering to deliver the programme
- develop and manage placements to ensure effective learning
- continuously develop the on-boarding experience for new starters to maintain retention
- conduct on-going apprentice reviews, assessment and performance management
- manage the safety of our apprentices ensuring site induction and ppe standards are adhered to at all sites
3.Coaching and mentoring
- work closely with the business to build a culture of coaching and mentoring
- design, implement and manage a mentoring scheme within the organization
- develop the skill within the organisation to raise awareness and build skill in the knowledge, skills and behaviour elements of the apprenticeship scheme.
- establish coaching and mentoring relationships across the business

4.Governance, compliance and external stakeholder management
- ensure compliance with the scheme and manage the budget effectively
- actively pursue new ideas and opportunities
- collaborate with other organisations and recognised bodies to drive the standards of new and existing schemes
- work closely with internal stakeholders to share and develop best practice
- document and monitor the programme reporting on relevant metrics
- be the point of contact and subject matter expert for all internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

- Experience of managing an apprenticeship scheme and introducing new standards
- Knowledge of training methodology: Analysis, Development, Design, Implementation, Evaluation
- Experience of working with college providers
- Mentoring and coaching qualification and experience
- Business partnering experience, high level of communication skills, accomplished presenter and facilitator
- Team player able to lead and inspire others
- Planning and programme management experience
