The FRACAS- and Warranty-Engineer is responsible for documenting and tracking failures in dedicated projects. He/she takes responsibility for keeping an up-to-date list (data must be entered into a central database in a timely manner) relating all available information on the failures detected on the vehicles covered by the affected projects and platforms.

He/she is also part of the `LOC Reliability Improvement Project Coreteam` and represents Engineering to make sure that all technical issues are solved in time to reach the targeted reliability and availability figures.

YOUR TASKS

This includes initial reports, diagnostic data retrieval and first-level analysis, (Product Introduction) repair information/documentation and an initial assessment (final if possible) of the cause of each failure. Where he/she is not able to close a failure analysis, he/she needs to request support from the platform and system engineering. Based on the list of failures, he/she will define additional actions and follow-ups for the project core team or the vehicle platform. These should then be communicated in the appropriate meetings.

In case of stopping failures (technical and contractual where applicable), he/she will create a formal stopping failure report, that can be used to inform the customer and the teams tasked with resolving that technical issue. This report should be approved by the responsible PI site manager.

• In addition, depending on the project setup and obligations, he/she shall also help in analyzing the failure rates in the projects and solve technical problems.

• The field engineer works in very close cooperation with the Warranty Project Engineer and is the first point of contact in case of questions and requests coming from the LOC/PI warranty site staff.

• He/she is part of the `LOC Reliability Improvement Project Coreteam` and represents Engineering to make sure that technical issues are solved in time to reach the targeted reliability and availability figures in all platform. He provides monthly reporting to LOC management and feedback of Lessons learned into new projects and platforms. Support of Warranty-Project-Engineers or PM at customer meetings.

• In addition, he/she preferably has knowledge in RAM/LCC to support project- and bid-work related to RAM/LCC. The feedback of field values into theoretical RAM/LCC calculation and lessons learned into the Engineering organization must be ensured by him/her.

• He/she is sent out to one or several projects depending on project size and workload. Travelling time and presence on warranty sites can reach up to 80% of work time.
