Purpose of the job: You will have the opportunity and satisfaction to be involved in large-scale projects starting from the conceptual, preliminary or detail design phase through manufacturing and testing. You will work with industrial designers, mechanical/electrical installation engineers and system engineers in developing modern, practical and maintainable exterior designs for railway vehicles. Key responsibilities: - Design and integrate vehicle exterior components in line with train mechanical descriptions provided by the vehicle architects with respect to all interfaces.- Create conceptual and detailed 3D models working with mechanical/electrical installation engineers for vehicle exterior components such underframe equipment installation, air and water piping, electrical wireways, inter-car gangways, etc.- Integrate supplier components into the vehicle in collaboration with systems engineering, carbody and manufacturing engineering. Qualifications: Education - Technical diploma of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Relevant experience required - Minimum 2 years of related professional experience Specialized or cross-functional knowledge / relevant experience required by the position/role - Experience working with CATIA V5 is mandatory- Knowledge of composites, metal sheets, aluminium and plastics is desired- Experience in the area of rail industry is an asset- MS Office applications- Good command in English- Competency in accurate and structured work We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those under consideration will be contacted.
