Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE:
To produce high quality new and revised Technical Publication Manuals and Supplements to support Supplemental Type Certification (STC) modifications. Publications include Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM), Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPC) and Service Bulletins. All Publications will meet CDG/Boeings expectations of high technical and format accuracy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work as an integral member of the CDG Engineering team upfront for assigned projects to ensure adequate resource data is provided to meet cost and schedule requirements.
To write and edit detailed procedures for aircraft supplemental publications to a high quality standard by extracting information from engineering drawings, models and manufacturers/vendors information.
To formulate a method of accomplishing maintenance, parts and retrofit supplement documentation in a logical manner that will simplify the incorporation of that data into the aircraft master manuals.
To assist the illustrator by determining the content of illustrations.
Co-ordinate all information and support needed to complete supplements and master data incorporation.
To ensure the supplement and master data release dates are achieved and communicated.
Communicate in a timely manner issues and concerns to CDG Engineering and Technical Authoring management / focal’s for immediate resolution.
Ensure quality, cost and schedules are adhered to.
To make sure that all publications comply with the correct format/specification and technical content.
To keep the assigned Engineering and Authoring Project Managers informed of progress and any problems arising from a work assignment.
Provide technical assistance at CDG and customer facilities.
Provide assistance to less experienced staff.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Experience in an aircraft-engineering environment including knowledge of aircraft interiors and systems, including assembly processes, is desirable.
A minimum of three years of experience in a technical publications or similar environment (i.e. engineering or planning).
Knowledge of engineering software tools and publishing systems (i.e. Framemaker SGML).
Good communication, presentation, writing, research, organizational and design skills
Ability to thrive under pressure of delivering to specified time-scales

QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree / HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience is required.

REMARKS:
•Periodic travel to other CDG and customer sites will be required.
