A fully integrated subsidiary of the Boeing Company, Boeing Defence UK Ltd (BDUK) has been established in the UK to further develop on-shore capability to provide improved customer support, responsiveness and value for money for UK defence customers.  Headquartered in London and undergoing rapid growth, BDUK has 1200 employees located within the UK including Bristol, Gosport, Yeovil and Milton Keynes. With an annual order-book in excess of 750M, programmes include Through Life Customer Support, Apache Integrated Operational Support and Training and Information Services (IS), including SCIS, a major MoD TUPE contract.

The IS Programme is resourced by circa 450 IT and logistics specialists, including TUPE transferees from the MoD, HP, and IBM.  Significant restructuring to streamline and consolidate activity continues to take place with the two main centres in Bristol and Milton Keynes.  Planned growth to the Program will require additional contracts, TUPE transfers and hiring of skilled IT and logistics practitioners.

The Role

Responsible for the TUPE transfer arrangements for a government IT transformation project into Boeing. This would be a 6 month FTC.

This role requires an experienced HR professional who has a proven track record of managing and co-ordinating TUPE transfers, ideally from public to private sector.

The role would be responsible for co-ordinating the change programme in partnership with Boeing’s Business HR team, Compensation and Benefits, the business team and Business HR team and the transferring organisation.

The primary responsibility of this role would be to ensure flawless execution of a TUPE transfer into the Boeing Company, providing the best possible start for employees coming into the business and continuity of service for the customers of the roles that they perform.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities would be:

  • Co-ordinating subject matter experts from the HR function and Share Services to deliver all requirements according the TUPE and Transition Plan. Ensuring all the detailed activities are completed on time and to very high standard

  • Ensuring that all of the transfer plan requirements are integrated with the overall IT Transformation Transition Plan

  • Working with Compensation and Benefits to complete all due diligence on terms and conditions, reward arrangements etc., and co-ordinate the development of a consultation position and framework

  • Developing and drafting communications materials, ensuring engagement sessions are planned and co-ordinated with speakers and SMEs

  • Be the primary point of contact for all TUPE related matters – handling queries from the business transition team, the partner (transferring organisation) or from TUPE transferees themselves (ensuring that queries are either responded to or that the appropriate SME is engaged)

  • Ensure Boeing’s compliance to TUPE regulation.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience of handling TUPE transfers, ideally from public to private sector

Sound understanding of HR Generalist work either through working as a generalist or through working with HR generalists and business partners on complex transfer arrangements

Ideally degree qualified; CIPD qualified, qualification in Employment Law, HR or related field would also be an advantage
