Job Profile

· As Principal Scientist within the department of CNS Diseases Research you would lead a lab of 1-3 qualified technical assistants in the preclinical psychiatry group
· Your main task would also involve the identification and validation of new drug targets, and the subsequent progression of chemical leads obtained from high throughput screening to lead optimization and clinical development.
· To this end you would participate in, and be responsible for, research programs aiming at the preclinical evaluation of novel therapeutic concepts for the treatment of psychiatric diseases. .
· Furthermore, the implementation of your own project ideas is natural to you and would be required.
· In addition you would present research findings within the company as well as at international scientific congresses and publish in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
· You would be required to establish collaborations with external research groups and provide input to the research direction of the department.

Requirements

· You hold a PhD in Neurobiology (or related discipline), with sound background in preclinical drug discovery processes and additional hands-on experience in the areas of receptor pharmacology, molecular or cell biology.
· Several years of postdoctoral fellowship are required.
· Additional industry experience in biomedical research would be an advantage
· In-depth knowledge in the disease-area is highly desired.
· Your fluency in English both in writing and in speaking will enable you to act in a highly international working environment.
· You are regarded as a strong team player and you like to work in multi-disciplinary global teams.
