For our new Corporate Office EU in Brussels, we are currently looking for an EU Policy Associate to expand the team. In this new and exciting role you contribute to the implementation of Boehringer Ingelheim's European Public Affairs Strategy and further develop the Public Affairs function across the region.

You support the Head of the Corporate Office EU and work on projects independently. You will get the chance to increase your level of responsibilities over time and build up a valuable experience to make a next step in your career.

In this new role you report to the Head of Corporate Office EU, and closely cooperate with colleagues at BI's Global Headquarters and offices across the region.

You are offered a 12 month contract with the possibility of extension.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Monitor EU legislation and policy initiatives relevant to BI's business
· Support the development, coordination and implementation of advocacy plans on priority policy issues
· Participate in trade associations meetings and industry platforms and contribute to their advocacy work
· Establish strong working relationships across different BI functions, on local and regional levels within Europe
· Build relationships with EU institutional staff, trade association staff and other relevant stakeholders
· Organize internal meetings and external outreach programs and explore opportunities for BI
· Support the BI Head of Corporate Office EU in his various tasks and responsibilities

Requirements:

· Bachelor or Master Degree, preferably in law, political science, business, or communications
· 2-3 years of work experience in an EU institution, consultancy firm, industry association or Corporate Public or Government Affairs role
· Deep knowledge of the EU's key policy-makers and stakeholders, decision-making processes and legislative procedures
· Excellent command of the English language
· German and other EU languages are considered a plus
· Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, flexibility and ability to prioritize and work under pressure
· Proactive and strong focus on solutions and results-oriented execution
· Enthusiasm and curiosity
· Interest in health, research and industrial policy related issues
