Department Overview

BNP Paribas’ Global Markets business offers a broad range of products and services in the global interest rate, credit, currency, equities & commodity markets. Global Markets help their franchise of clients find effective ways to raise and invest capital as well as manage their exposure to risk. Their client base comprises of hundreds of corporations, institutional investors, banks, governments and supranational organizations.

Global Markets has the scale and reach to conduct business anywhere in the world and deliver products denominated in almost all of the world’s currencies. The Team

Within Global Markets, the Equity Derivatives (EQD) business line is able to develop truly innovative solutions to adapt to the environment and to fit client needs in every market climate. Through innovation, expertise and client focus, BNP Paribas Equity Derivatives has emerged as a global leader in the industry and holds some of the largest trading positions and market shares worldwide.

Within EQD, non-linear trading gathers several desks dealing with flow and exotic derivatives and engaging in the market making of those products (stock correlation, indices, systematic strategies & hybrids and funds) for our clients. All of those desks have dedicated resources in Lisbon that assist the traders with market monitoring, book management, pricing and development of new tools and workflows.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for an Trader Assistant Trainee for the desk with a focus on development and transversal projects:

· Assist the Trader Assistants with their daily tasks
· Act as a liaison with other functions: IT, Middle Office, Back Office…
· Lead transversal projects in liaison with Trader Assistants in order to improve our workflows and streamline our processes
· Help leverage our extensive sets of data to create new strategic reporting for the team that will have an impact on decision making and resource allocation

Profile

Education

· Master’s degree in Engineering (Computer Science for instance)

Skills

· Excellent organizational and communication skills
· Programming (VBA/Python) proficiency & hands on experience
· Strong data analytics skills
· Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
· Fast learner

Languages

· Fluent English
