The Stock and Lending GECD activity is active on more than 20 markets worldwide, mainly in Europe & America. The Front Office is established in the main financial cities worldwide (Paris, London, New-York, Hong-Kong), and the Collateral Management Trade Support Team based in Paris.

The “SLAB Settlements & Rebates and Fees” team is fully part of the “Securities Operations” Department within the global GECD Operations organization. “SLAB Settlement & Rebates and Fees” team is in charge of Trades Settlements related to Stock & Lending Activity and Collateral Management.

Associated to such trades, the team is also in charge of the billing charged on those Operations. As part of GECD Operations, the SLAB Settlement Team is highly concerned by reducing the operational and fraud risk by establishing regular and sufficient checks inherent to the position. Also escalating to his management, to the FO management and to the Operational Risk team all the identified problems or potential suspicious operations.


Responsabilities

As settlement analyst, your mission is to proactively manage the follow-up & settlements of the trades concluded with counterparties, and raise any operational risk associated.

Within the “SLAB Settlement & Rebates and Fees” team, your major areas of responsibilities will be to:
·  Ensure the daily follow-up of Settlements against counterparties (pre-matching, counterparties chasing, failed reporting) before markets cut-off.
·  Raise to Front-Office / Collateral Management team any discrepancies on Trades, Rates for billing, short positions having an effect on our deliveries or related to buy-ins.
·  Raise to Front Office the positions to be covered related to markets / counterparties buy-in
·  Ensure the Confirmations follow-up
·  Follow-up the monthly SLAB billing (pay & receive), analyse rates discrepancy, and raise to Front Office the unmatched & unpaid invoices.
·  Check and regularize custodian & cash breaks
·  Propose process improvements and system enhancements
·  Follow-up special Operations (high rates / amounts, dividend trades, sensitive clients,…)
·  Contribute to the team development


Daily follow-up of Settlements & rates on Stock Lending and Borrowing (SLAB) transactions

·  Controls of the invalided Trades from Front Office, release of the settlement instructions, and pre-matching of the SLAB & Collateral Management transactions
·  Follow-up of Trades discrepancies :
·  Alert Front-Office of failing pre-matching / Settlements before markets cut-off
·  Monitor & follow-up of discrepancies resolution
·  Identify abnormal practices / operational incidents
·  Raise to Front Office positions needed to avoid Buy-Ins penalty
·  Identification and follow-up of the enhancements requiring IT action plans
·  Investigations and data providing on ITO demands
·  Reporting and communication to the impacted stakeholders (FO, Operations, IT) and management
·  Alerts and escalation to the management when needed

Rebates & Fees
·  Controls of the daily rates confirmation to ensure a correct monthly billing
·  Interactions with counterparties and clients to follow-up the sending & reception of invoices
·  Processing of the payments and controls of receipts related to the SLAB billing
·  Alerts and escalations to the Front Office and Operations management for any rates / amount discrepancies or unpaid invoices.
·  Processing monthly paid / unpaid billing reporting


Process improvements and IS enhancements

·  Ensure the configuration of the Settlement Instructions are accurate (matching rules depending on markets, scopes)
·  Contribution or projects lead related to the efficiency of the processes and systems
·  Proposition of new developments or improvement in the existing chain in order to secure the processes and reduce the operational risk


Contribution to the team development

·  Formalization of team procedures and operating guides
·  Participation of training and coaching for new joiners
·  Formalization of on-boarding materials
·  Active participation in management and department staff meetings
·  Assist & lead morning meetings as part of the Lean Methods

Desired profile

Skills
·  Degree in Finance, Economy or Management; Master's Degree is a plus
·  Experience in financial, banking or settlements with an emphasis in Operations management, knowledge of cross-borders settlement is a plus
·  Fluent in English
·  Knowledge of French is a plus
·  Significant knowledge of financial markets and products with emphasis on Equity Derivatives. Specialization in Stock Lending and Borrowing product is highly appreciated
·  Proficiency in computer skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office Pack, knowledge of VBA & SWIFT messages are a plus
·  Controls oriented profile with strong analytical and problem solving skills
·  Proactive, motivated and willing to absorb new concepts, organization and IS (internal system) in a challenging environment
