Role Description and Purpose

FundQuest Advisor (“FQA”) is the fund selection specialist of BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM), the asset management arm of the BNP Paribas group. FundQuest Advisor covers the world's top financial markets from offices based in Paris, London and Singapore. Manager and fund selection are FundQuest Advisor's key activities. Thanks to its rigorous selection process, covering most asset classes, FQA selects managers and/or funds that can be blended to suit any investment objective and policy.

The provision of high-quality investment solutions in an open architecture environment is its primary goal. FQA's offers include buy-list/fund selection services and model portfolio construction/monitoring. FQA also manages the relationship with delegated managers on specific funds.

The main requirement and focus of the role is to assist the Fixed Income Team in fund selection.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities for the role are summarised as follows:

Research

· Research and evaluate portfolio managers to fulfil both the due diligence function and to determine whether they have the skill to deliver outperformance in the future, and to communicate those views to the Qualitative Manager Research (QMR) team.

· Generate and develop lists of managers for FQA's clients in the Fixed Income (FI) sub-asset classes.

· Attend investment due diligence meetings with identified managers.

· Preparation of pre-meeting materials (agendas, case studies etc), portfolio characteristics and performance of

external FI Fund Managers.

Identify reasons for variation against expectations and assess implications for future investment strategy and recommendations.

· Diligently record meeting notes for investment manager meetings.

· Maintain records in the central database.

· Produce timely, high quality documentation of manager research.

Monitoring

· Liaise with incumbent investment managers to request portfolio information and keep abreast of developments to the firm, staff and investment process.

· Identifying, summarising and presenting the key investment issues for discussion at regular manager monitoring meetings based on the underlying portfolio analysis.

· Diligent recording of meeting notes/Fund Analysis Reports (FARs).

· Present and monitor recommendations in the Investment Committee Meetings (ICMs) and periodic reporting to clients.

Quantitative analysis and development

· Maintain existing FI universes (homogeneous groups of funds) and development efforts.

· Work with Quant team and RDD to co-ordinate workflow

Essential Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

· Bachelors Degree required, Masters in Management or Finance Preferred; Working towards CFA with stage 1 at least passed.

· Asset Management/Investment industry experience is required, specifically in Fixed Income - fund of funds, consulting, large pension plan

· Fluent in English & writing skills in English and French.

· Experience as a research analyst or portfolio manager with full accountability for manager ranking decisions and/or multi-manager fund decisions.

· Good knowledge of the following tools : Microsoft Office, VBA and Bloomberg
