REPORT TO
Head of U.S. Tax Operations
MISSION AND OBJECTIVES
The US Tax Operations Group is responsible for establishing operational procedures and controls to comply with IRS regulations regarding US information reporting (i.e. 1099 reporting for US investors, and 1042-S reporting for non-US investors receiving US sourced income). Tax Operations is responsible for maintaining client tax documentation, such as IRS series W-8 forms and forms W-9, withholding and remitting taxes to the IRS, and generating 1099 and 1042-S reporting to clients and the US Internal Revenue Service. The group collaborates with BNP Paribas Corporate Tax to assess the impact of new tax legislation, and engages with cross-functional resources to develop plans to respond and/or comply with new regulations. To the extent a new business process must designed, Tax Operations develops business requirements and ensures that IT and operational procedures are enhanced to support new regulations. In addition, Tax Operations supports cost basis transfer reporting and the processing of corporate action events such as mergers, tenders, and spin-off.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Solicitation of tax document recertification
• Review and validation of submitted tax documents from clients and counterparties
• Loading client tax documents into proprietary software, as well as processing updates related to client static data within the system
• Monitor on-boarding to ensure that valid tax documents are received
• Reviewing assets both being transferred in and out BNPP, to determine if there is a need to provide or receive cost basis transfer statements (CBRS) , for updating the cost basis tracking system with the client's basis information
• Validation of data detailed on incoming transfer statements from external financial institutions
• Assist with the completion of requested transfer statement details
• Assist with review of all transfer bookings between books and records vs cost basis engine

TRAINING AND OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE
• BA required
• High proficiency in standard Microsoft applications, including MS Word and MS Excel
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Strong communication, analytical and organizational skills
• Proactive, motivated and willing to absorb new functions and concepts
• Quick learner, taking detailed notes as references
