Job description
BMI Chiltern Hospital in Great Missenden has an opportunity for a Pharmacy Manager to join our dedicated and professional team.
Role Responsibilities:
- To be responsible for the management and daily running of the Pharmacy Department, providing a safe and effective medicines management service to all patients, staff, consultants and customers
- To provide clinical direction and leadership for all pharmacy staff in the hospital
- To co-ordinate and manage the provision of pharmacy services in hospital
Required Knowledge / Skills / Qualifications:
- Degree in Pharmacy – postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy preferred;
- Must be registered on the General Pharmaceutical Council register;
- Knowledge of General Pharmaceutical Council Codes of Professional Conduct, Ethics and Performance and their implications for practice;
- Knowledge of the Care Standards Act and Care and Quality Commission Requirements;
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance tools;
- Knowledge of Human Resource policies, tools and techniques, including interviewing, conducting performance reviews, performance coaching and formal HR processes e.g. discipline and grievance (preferred);
- Experience of managing a team, mentoring and teaching (preferred).
- Energetic, proactive and driven to succeed;
- Strong organisational and planning skills, including risk management;
- Results driven, possessing a proven track record of delivering against targets
- Strong interpersonal skills:
- Able to communicate clearly with a range of people at differing levels across the hospital, deploying a range of techniques to do this effectively
- Able to energise, shape and direct a team to maximise motivation
- Able to support and develop staff to deliver business goals
- Good financial awareness and control:
- Understands the financial imperatives within the BMI business model
- Adept at communicating financial information
- Produces robust investment / budgetary documentation
- Anticipates, manages and monitors risks and deliverables

Working Hours:
This is a full-time post for 37.5 hours per week working a variable shift pattern.
