EMC Test Engineer - Essex

My clients based in Essex are looking for an EMC Test Engineer.

My client is a leading global supplier that designs, engineers and manufactures electronic components and systems. Their Essex locationis the European Head Office and is the centre of excellence for design and innovation, employing approximately 350 people.

This role is commutable from Harlow, Basildon, Chelmsford, Southend & Colchester among other places.

Job Purpose:
• Ensure EMC tests are executed to customer specifications, maintain test data integrity, evaluate results and report data to customers in a timely manner.

Job Key Results Areas:
• Oversee developmental, verification and validation testing within the EMC Test Facilities.
• Liaise as necessary with Design Engineer, Product Assurance Engineer and EMC Applications Engineer in order to understand specific test set up requirements.
• Provide direction and support to EMC test technicians to ensure testing is completed in a timely manner in accordance with the appropriate EMC specifications.
• Assist with development and maintenance of EMC Test Software.
• Contribute towards continuous Improvement activities.
• Prepare and review EMC Test Reports to meet customer requirements, providing interim data and completed reports in a timely manner.
• Keep up-to-date with test standards and practices.
• Participating as necessary in safety and housekeeping walkarounds, resolving any issues specific to this role.
• Support the development of local work instructions.
• Investigate and assist in the resolution of customer complaints.
• Ensure all equipment used for testing purposes is suitably calibrated prior to use.

Job Critical Context:
• Key role in the support of product development during EMC Test.
• Working to EMC Test Operation Procedures.

Candidate Requirements:

Knowledge :
• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in an Engineering, Software or Electrical related discipline.

Skills :
• Clear, concise problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail especially during test set-up, execution, and report writing.
• Commitment to continuous improvement initiatives and high quality service delivery
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team orientated environment.
• Excellent IT skills and experience of Microsoft Office

Desirable:
• Experience with LabView would be advantageous.
• Other software development skills such as Visual Basic, C/C++, Python.
• Familiarity with general lab test equipment including signal generators and oscilloscopes.

Basic salary is up to £43k for the right candidate.
