It is a great route of entry into the BBC. Our Apprenticeships combine college learning with full time paid jobs.

The BBC Marketing and Audiences team are the experts responsible for defining and delivering our compelling brand strategy. Combining professional marketing and brand leadership, audience insight and planning as well as communications expertise, they provide an in depth understanding of our diverse audiences and their behaviours  as well as the understanding needed to build strong relationships with our viewers or listeners, secure our position as a brand leader and reinforce our reputation for excellence.

Role Responsibility

The Apprentice Research Assistant role offers an exciting opportunity to understand audience data and behaviours and impact on strategic and editorial decisions.  The post involves supporting the relevant Audiences team in the day to day analysis and reporting of audience data, along with dealing with ad hoc requests and providing support on longer term projects.  You will learn how to use industry datasets and other research sources in order to provide audience insight and analysis to support decision making.

This is an ideal position for anyone interested in pursuing a career in marketing and market research or similar disciplines. You should have a curiosity to understand people, trends and changes in media behaviour, and an appreciation of the broadcasting market and the role of the BBC within it.  You will be numerate, with good analytical and IT skills, and a proactive approach to work and learning. You will be able to demonstrate an interest in, or experience (professional or academic) of data analysis or market research.
