Job description

Ambitious output makes BBC Radio Oxford one of the most exciting places to work in BBC Local Radio.  We are looking for a highly motivated receptionist to support the station with front of house and day to day admin.

Role Responsibility

As Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and telephone callers to our station. You will also work across a range of ‘meet and greet’, front of house and other administrative activities. You will act as the gateway to the team, answering the switchboard, greeting programme guests and all other callers to the station. You will also help with updating the weekend listings and be responsible for post duties and keeping the reception area presentable. Some occasional support to programmes may also be required.

The Ideal Candidate

You will need proven first class communication skills, both face to face and over the phone and the ability to deal with a wide range of people with confidence, tact and diplomacy. You’ll be used to working with the public, have excellent customer care skills and should have a friendly, welcoming manner with lots of energy and enthusiasm.  You’ll be a confident switchboard operator or have the ability to learn quickly.  IT skills are essential so you should be comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel and Email under your own initiative. You’ll be expected to act as a team player as well as being comfortable working on your own. A degree of flexibility in order to cover your job share partner’s sickness and holiday would be helpful. Knowledge of our audiences and our audience areas would also be an advantage.
