BBC Scotland is looking for a Radio Content Producer for an attachment/fixed term contract for 9 months.

Role Responsibility

We are looking for a Content Producer who will be part of the team producing the weekly satirical topical panel game on BBC Radio Scotland.  The Content Producer will be responsible for delivering content on a daily basis and contributing to the development of new output.  You will be involved in generating and researching ideas for programmes, taking editorial responsibility for the planning and effective production of specific content on multiple platforms.  Developing content, writing material for scripts and undertaking research activities are key aspects of this role.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in delivering live content within Radio and excellent journalistic skills with a passion for speech output.  You will need to be immersed in Scottish current affairs with an in-depth knowledge of Scottish political life, institutions and the broader news agenda in Scotland.  This should ideally be coupled with an interest in the Scotland and UK Comedy scene.  The ability to generate original ideas and to think creatively about how to communicate them to the target audience is essential.  You will have sound writing and story-telling skills, which you can adapt for different audiences and platforms, together with knowledge of sourcing content for a variety of output.
