Job description
This is an opportunity for an experienced journalist to join the BBC Hereford & Worcester news team. We cover a diverse patch from the edge of the urban West Midlands to the Welsh borders, and we put original journalism and creative story-telling at the heart of our output. We've won awards for our journalism, and we're looking for candidates who can bring new ideas and flair to a team, which is increasingly multi-media in its news coverage.
Role Responsibility
We need an all rounder - so you’ll have experience of news reading and live reporting, as well as studio production. We're keen to see candidates who have a track record of digging out great stories. You will have the ability to produce output and make editorial decisions under pressure and to tight deadlines. The role will include some weekend working.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Broadcast Journalist, skilled in radio production techniques. You'll have first class writing skill, a great voice for radio, a good understanding of social media and ideally some experience of working with video. We want team-players who can bring creative ideas original stories. You will have sound editorial judgement and thorough knowledge of broadcast law. You will be required to operate our full range of studio and other broadcast equipment.
