Working closely with regional TV and online, BBC Radio Lancashire broadcasts to the whole of the red rose county from our headquarters in Blackburn. With a talented team of presenters, producers and reporters, we are a proud and successful station with big ambitions! We've developed some of the finest talents - both on-air and off-air - across BBC Local Radio in an increasingly challenging and competitive market place. We are looking for someone with experience, passion and enthusiasm for creative programming to join our management team.

Role Responsibility

Deputising for the Managing Editor, you will drive the editorial process across the station. Working closely with the Editor, you will help devise new ways of sustaining and increasing reach and share on radio and in continuing the evolution of the station’s social media presence.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, a decision maker and a champion of original story-telling. You will have a good understanding of multi-platform working and be able to clearly demonstrate your ability to devise creative treatments for the output with relevant, recent examples.

With significant broadcast journalism experience together with proven leadership skills, you'll have a flexible approach to people and a thorough understanding of local audiences and how to serve them.
