BBC Look East is looking for a great producer to join us.  If you think you have what it takes to lead a team of highly skilled journalists and technical staff,  if you have an eye for a great story and can deliver ambitious and high quality news programmes then this is definitely the opportunity for you.

BBC Look East is one of the country’s most watched news programmes, covering the largest of the English Regions. We run two television centres, in Cambridge and in Norwich, working closely with six local radio stations, a chain of BBC Local websites and a full range of weekly programmes.

Role Responsibility

This opportunity is in a key leadership role, and you will be responsible for leading a team of journalists, cameramen and operational staff to deliver a programme of the highest editorial and production standards.  It will be your responsibility to plan programmes, and to assign, brief and determine priorities for operational and editorial teams. You will be responsible for originating programme and story ideas ensuring consistency of style and editorial content of output.

As one of our Assistant Editors you will also be responsible for outputting the 1830 edition of Look East from Cambridge. 

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has leadership skills, great ideas and high editorial standards.  You should have a proven track record as a news producer with a flair for leading teams effectively.  Ideally you will have experience of managing journalists, operational staff and facilities in a regional TV news environment, and an understanding of the latest techniques and technology for effective newsgathering.
