Job description
BBC Scotland Sport is looking for an Archive Researcher (Football) on a fixed term contract for 6 months to support a new commission.
Role Responsibility
Your main role is to support the production. You will suggest, source, acquire and cost moving archive, stills, magazine and newspaper headlines and articles relevant to this new documentary series covering both Scottish football and Scottish social and cultural history. Reporting to the Executive Producer, Commissioning and working closely with the Assistant Producers and Series Producer, you will contribute to a high profile and important new series.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of and a keen interest in Scottish football and Scottish social history, with demonstrable experience of archive research in television, radio, print journalism or interactive. You will have a good knowledge of both the BBC archive and the key external archive houses. You will have the confidence and tenacity to purse information, overcome obstacles and follow a brief whilst being able to work on your own initiative. You must be able to work independently as well as part of a team and manage conflicting demands effectively.
