Summary:
Applies engineering principles to the development of test methods for the purposes of test method validation (TMV) of manufacturing standard operating procedures utilized in the production of orthobiologic medical devices within the Baxter Advanced Surgery product portfolio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine test method designs or method improvements which can be utilized in the current manufacturing process.
- Test method validation – physical test methods, analytical chemistry methods. Knowledge of sterility and/or biological test method validation is a plus.
- Liaison between manufacturing plant and international project team.
- Provides technical information concerning processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations which affect long-range plant/international project team engineering planning.
- Development of standard operating procedures and TMV study protocols – Knowledge of statistical study design is desired.
- Determines feasibility of TMV study designs based on plant equipment and available resources.
- Requests and orders all materials required on a timely basis to ensure an efficient performance of the represented department.
- Implements changes and follows-up to assure their effectiveness.
- Should be able to work with minimum supervision.
- Should be able to work with multiple projects and handle multiple tasks the same time.
- Should be able to work on special projects as assigned.
Profile:
- Master or Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Biomedical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
- Experience with statistical analysis software and computer-aided drawing software is preferred.
- Strong communication skills; both written and spoken.
- Must be able to interact with all levels of employees and functions such as Quality, Validation, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Maintenance, etc.
- Teamwork oriented.
