Overall job purpose of this - Under moderate supervision manages test project (small / medium), its risks and dependencies. Mitigate risks to Business through timely, precise execution and validation of test plans. Mitigates / escalates issues to Test Manager or Portfolio Test Lead as appropriate. Work with development team to create test plans for enhancements and fixes on applications
Support UAT / OAT. Prepare Test phase closure reports. Responsible for ownership of tools strategy, administration. Prepare project level required metrics and reports.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Prepare / Assist in performing test estimation, test strategy
· Prepare Phase Test Plan
· Coordinate / Prepare Test Bed/Test Data for execution
· Support UAT / OAT
· Prepare Run Plan and Execution Plans
· Responsible for ownership of tools strategy
· Confirm connectivity and readiness of test team
· Assist Test Manager in managing day-to-day testing activities, such as test monitoring and status reporting at the end of the testing day
· Reverse engineer requirements and develop models as needed to support test automation
· Execute tests, track and monitor defects to closure and produce test metrics and test reports
· Run ETL schedules
· Generate reports in IBM cognos portal
· Test & validate the reports against DB ( Strong SQL skills required)
· Test data creation
· Test Scripting & Execution
· Status reporting
· Responsibility for alignment with Test Manager & Portfolio Lead who are primary Stakeholders.
· Responsibility for alignment with Test leadership across Barclays
· Responsibility for alignment with Portfolio stakeholders in Corporate Platforms area
· You are responsible for regular alignment with key stake-holder within technology as well as business to understand the testing needs and drive continuous improvement in order to enhance the services provided
· You will engage regularly with the other delivery leads (PMs, Design, Build, Implementation) within/outside your Portfolio to ensure the testing planning, demand, progress, risk and issues are appropriately per-collated
· Risk and Control Objective - Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Barclays Operational Risk Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Standards
Requirements for IJP for the position of Programme Test Analyst – BC&I
o o experience in Testing
o Strong SQL skills
o ETL testing
o Running reports in IBM Cognos reporting
o Strong skills in Unix
o Experience with ETL/ Informatica/ DWH/DB/ BI report testing experience is a mandatory
o Strong debugging and diagnostic skills
o Previous work experience with SQL or Oracle databases is a must
o Must be an active member of the test execution team and should be able to execute testing tasks independently also with minimal supervision
o Critical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
o Should have a proven track record of working with various teams and should exhibit good interpersonal skills and flexibility to work with people from various cultures
o The candidate ideally should be able to illustrate how he/she has handled high-pressure situations at work. Positive attitude is very important, and the candidate should be a positive minded professional
o Good Understanding of Technology and Banking Industry
o Agile Experience will be an added advantage
o Strong experience in Testing and defect management
o Exposure to configuration and change
o Should have of Testing processes knowledge
o Awareness banking applications
o Good communication Skills
o Certification: ISTQB/ CSTE / CSQA
