Splunk in Payments Landscape is used for Monitoring of Payments flowing through applications with Payments Landscape. Splunk apps are dedicated monitoring portals built on Splunk

Overall purpose of role: You will be one of subject matter experts related to all technical aspects of Splunk within Payments Landscape. This involves interacting with and understanding requirements of stakeholders for Payments monitoring, shaping the technical aspects of design of solutions for Payments monitoring on Splunk, giving technical direction to Splunk applications being developed, work with infrastructure and testing teams to ensure applications are successfully developed for and landed into Live. You will work

Your team looks to you as a hands on person to get into the details to resolve issues, code, create dashboards and provide relevant monitoring solutions/ options. Your team members may include contractors or individuals engaged from strategic partners and you will be required to deliver in close collaboration with them.

Along with Splunk Lead SME, you also manage dependencies whether internally between build phases or externally to other development stages.

You are a key contributor to thought leadership for Splunk app development and therefore consider and research approaches for effective build definition and practice across various initiatives. You therefore have a key part to play in developing effective build and maturity across a range of disciplines, including design, business domain knowledge, environment management, automation and other efficiency techniques.

Key Accountabilities and Skills required:

· Defining Build/Development approach(es) for Splunk apps

· Develop approach(es) align to the framework defined by the enterprise architects

· Design solutions / apps to meet customer Payments monitoring requirements

· Work with build/coding team to code the solutions

· Work with test teams to ensure System Test, Functional test and other relevant test are performed

· Review infrastructure capacity to ensure Splunk solutions are meeting required NFRs

· Support and direct service introduction of Splunk infrastructure and splunk applications in Live

· Risk and Control: All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards

Your Skills and Qualifications will include:

· Must have extensive knowledge of Splunk or similar big data products that can be used for various monitoring and business intelligence purpose.

· Must have exposure to Global Payments and/or monitoring within Global Payments

· Ideally should have knowledge of automated build and deployment tools

· Must have extensive and varied experience in development/support/ defect resolutions in multiple projects with differing levels of technical comprehension

· Must have extensive experience of development in large scale, complex integration Program/Projects

Skills:

· Must have ability to work in Agile teams and ensure DevOps adoption

· Must have ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality and managing to an acceptable level of risk

· Would be ideal to have ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all Programme/Project disciplines

· Must have experience of the Payments processing applications.

· Awareness of Payments Monitoring is prefered

· Must have deep understanding of Splunk

· Must have detailed understanding of Technology and Banking Industry

· Would be ideal to have Degree Level education

· Would be ideal to have awareness of banking applications awareness of the corporate banking domain.
